Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Rabba Mila De Jodi ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use rabbamiladejodi.com ("the Platform"). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable Indian law.

By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

At signup:

• First name, last name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Password (stored in encrypted/hashed form — we never store your actual password)

When you complete your profile:

• Date of birth, gender, height, marital status
• City / location
• Religion, caste, mother tongue, gotra, dietary preference, manglik status
• Education, college/university, occupation, company, annual income, job title
• Lifestyle details (smoking, drinking, willingness to relocate, hobbies)
• Family details (family type, family values, parents' occupations, siblings, family location)
• About-me description
• Profile photo

Generated through your use of the Platform:

• Profiles you've viewed, bookmarked, or expressed interest in
• Interests other members have sent you
• Your profile view count
• Account status (active/paused)

We do not currently collect government ID documents (such as Aadhaar or PAN) as part of our verification process.

3. Why We Collect This Data (Purpose of Processing)

We use your personal data to:

• Create and display your matrimonial profile to other registered members, for the purpose of matchmaking.
• Generate recommended matches for you based on your profile and preferences.
• Enable features like sending/receiving interest, bookmarking profiles, and viewing other members' profiles.
• Communicate with you about your account (e.g., confirmations, notifications).
• Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Platform.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data for purposes beyond what's needed to operate the matchmaking service, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Legal Basis and Your Consent

We process your personal data based on your consent, which you provide:

• When you create an account and agree to these terms.
• When you complete or update your profile, confirming that the information you provide (including photos) may be shown to other members for matchmaking purposes.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by pausing or permanently deleting your profile (see Section 8). Withdrawing consent will stop future processing but does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.

5. Who Sees Your Data

Other registered members: Your profile information is visible to other logged-in members of the Platform, as part of the core matchmaking function. Your email address and phone number are hidden from other members and only shown once both parties have expressed mutual interest.

Service providers who help us operate the Platform:

• MongoDB Atlas — hosts our database
• Render — hosts our backend server
• Netlify — hosts our website
• Zoho Mail — our email service provider

These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually/technically restricted from using it for their own purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

Legal disclosure: We may disclose your data if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the safety of our members or the public.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. If you choose to permanently delete your account from our website, we retain it in our database for 12 months for any legal use which may arise after your such action. But this data is not at all accessible by any registered users. We remove your profile data from our active systems after 12 months of your choosing the above option.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

• Passwords are stored in hashed (encrypted) form, never in plain text.
• Access to our database and servers is restricted.
• Data is transmitted over secure (HTTPS) connections.

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data — you can do this directly through "Edit Profile."
• Erase your data — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time through your account settings, or by contacting us.
• Withdraw consent at any time (noting this may limit your ability to use certain features, such as being shown to other members).
• Raise a grievance with our Grievance/Data Protection contact (see Section 10), and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To pause or delete your profile, go to Dashboard → Account Settings.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

Terms of Service

1. Who We Are

Rabba Mila De Jodi ("we," "us," "our," "the Platform") is a matrimonial matchmaking website operating at rabbamiladejodi.com, helping members of the Punjabi community connect for the purpose of matrimonial alliance.

By creating an account or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

To use this Platform, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under applicable Indian law.
• Not be prohibited from using matrimonial or matchmaking services under any applicable law.

If you are creating a profile on behalf of another person (for example, a parent creating a profile for their son or daughter), by submitting that profile you confirm that:

• You have that person's knowledge and authorization to create and publish their profile.
• The person the profile represents has consented to their personal information (including photos) being displayed to other members of the Platform.
• You will remove or update the profile promptly at that person's request.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your profile, and keep it updated if your circumstances change.
• You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information and photographs you submit. We do not independently verify most profile details (see Section 4).

4. Verification — What We Do and Don't Verify

We currently verify:

• Your email address

We do not currently perform government ID verification (such as Aadhaar, PAN, or Passport verification) on profiles. Any "Verified" badge on this Platform, if shown, reflects only the verification level stated at the time, not a guarantee of a member's identity, marital status, background, or character.

You are responsible for exercising your own judgment and diligence — including independently verifying any information shared by another member — before proceeding with any relationship, meeting, or marriage decision. We strongly recommend involving your family, meeting in safe public settings, and conducting your own background checks before making any commitments.

5. How Your Profile Is Used

By creating a profile, you agree and consent that:

• Your profile information (excluding contact details) will be visible to other registered members of the Platform for the purpose of facilitating matchmaking. Contact details are also shared with those selective registered members with whom mutual interest is shown.
• Other members may view your profile, express interest in you, bookmark your profile, and (where enabled) contact you.
• We may use your profile information to generate recommended matches for you and for other members.

You may withdraw this consent at any time by pausing or permanently deleting your profile through your account settings (see Section 9).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Create a profile using false, misleading, or another person's identity without authorization.
• Upload photos that are not genuinely of the person the profile represents, or that are sexually explicit, offensive, or violate any third party's rights.
• Harass, threaten, defraud, or solicit money from other members.
• Use the Platform for any commercial solicitation, advertising, or purpose unrelated to genuine matrimonial matchmaking.
• Attempt to access another member's account, scrape or copy profile data in bulk, or interfere with the Platform's operation.
• Post or transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes someone else's intellectual property.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove any account that violates these Terms, at our discretion, with or without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

• You retain ownership of the photos, text, and other content you submit to your profile.
• By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to display that content to other members of the Platform for the purpose of operating the matchmaking service.
• All Platform branding, design, and underlying software are our property or that of our licensors, and may not be copied or reused without permission.

8. Account Suspension, Pausing, and Deletion

• You may pause your profile at any time from your account settings — this hides your profile from search and recommendations while retaining your data, and you may reactivate it whenever you choose.
• You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. This action is irreversible.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or posed a risk to other members' safety.

9. No Guarantee of Outcomes

We are a platform that facilitates introductions between members. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, that any match will result in marriage, or that any member's claims about themselves are accurate. We are not a party to, and bear no responsibility for, any loss, damages, resulting to any registered user due to the relationship, engagement, or marriage that results from your use of the Platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We provide the Platform "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to any loss arising from interactions with other members.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount paid to us as a subscription during the immediate last 12 months to use our platform. However currently there is no such subscription fee being accepted from the users for use of the platform. Thus at present our total liability to you for any claim arising due to these terms or your use of the platform would be nil.

11. Grievance Redressal

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the contact details of our Grievance Officer are:

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jaipur, Rajasthan.
